Plant Healthcare and Spotted Lantern Fly Treatment

What Does This Package Do For My Lawn?

This package is for plants, bushes, garden beds, and all non-turf ground areas throughout every season. Our packages include plant fertilization for strong root establishment and bolder foliage. Preventive applications target insects and diseases on plants. This package also controls spotted lanternfly infestations, an urgent and serious botanical threat in our area.

Spotted Lanternfly Control - 6 Applications per season:

The Spotted Lanternfly is an invasive species originating from Asia. The first known sighting of this insect in the ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE was in Berks County, PA in 2014. In just a few short years, due to a lack of natural predators, they spread across southeastern PA and have now crept into our neighborhood!

So what? Why are they such a problem?

  • Lanternflies are a surface-sucking insect; they feed on bark and suck nutrients out of trees, causing injury.

  • As lanternflies feed, their "droppings" cause plant diseases, such as sooty mold, which can spread to surrounding plants.

  • Our native plants and crops are in trouble! Preventive and proactive applications can help save your maple, willow, walnut, and fruit-bearing trees, which have quickly become the meal of choice for this unwanted foe. But you must act now!

Meet The Spotted Lantern Fly

  • The Lanternfly has ALMOST NO natural predators. Native to southeastern Asia, the Spotted Lanternfly is new to the area and therefore has few known local predators. They are free to roam our trees and gardens, and make a meal out of our healthy greens. They are currently in the egg-laying phase of their lifecycle, and each female Lanternfly can lay up to 100 eggs!

  • The threat to trees and crops is significant. They feed by sucking sap from the host plants, which causes oozing wounds. These wounds cause the plant to weaken and makes it more vulnerable to attack from other pests or diseases, which can further stress or ultimately kill the plant.

  • Feasting on your plants is only the start of the problem. As they feed, Lanternflies secrete a residue called "honeydew," which causes fungal issues in the form of sooty mold and powdery mildew. Have you noticed a black film on any of your plants, patios, walkways or outdoor furniture? If so, there is a good chance you'll see a Lanternfly nearby. So, they can cause damage to desirable plants that they aren't even feeding on!

  • Their "honeydew" attracts swarming insects. The sweet smell of their "droppings" attracts bees, wasps, hornets, and other swarming insects. As if the presence of these nasty critters on your property isn't uncomfortable enough, they are usually a package deal with other unwelcome pests.

  • They have multiplied, but you may not be able to see them. They may be as high up as your tallest tree tops. And that is exactly where they will start eating as soon as they awaken.

  • Our Prevention and Treatment Plan is designed to stop exactly that. After killing the visible adults, we use a Systemic Insecticide that arms your trees and plants with plant-healthy nutrients as well as acting agents that will shield them against the hungry Lanternflies.

What can we do?

After closely following the spread of this species, we have been trained by leading industry experts on how to combat their evolution. Our Plant Healthcare Program will protect your trees and ornamental plants against disease and damage caused by lanternfly infestations. Our treatments not only control the existing adult lanternfly population but also stop future offspring from feeding on your plants.

Trust the process. By applying the treatment now, your plants will have the proper time to absorb and distribute the agents, so that when the pests start munching next Spring, your plants will be able to fight back. Our program is designed to treat the plants in multiple steps over time, keeping them healthy and armed throughout the year.
